King Tubby's Studio

King Tubby's studio at 18 Dromilly Avenue in Waterhouse was the birthplace of modern dub — where Osborne Ruddock remixed multitracks, cut dubplates, and trained engineers like Scientist in bass-heavy innovation.

Why it matters: Waterhouse dub changed global music technology aesthetics. Tubby's room was both community hangout and laboratory, linking sound-system demand to studio experimentation.
