Mix Down
Mix down is the final blend of multitrack recordings into a stereo (or mono) master — in Jamaica often where dub engineers reshaped balances, added delay, and decided how much bass the dance would receive.
Why it matters: In dub, the mix down is performance. Engineers became stars because the same multitracks could yield radically different emotional results — a lesson still applied in digital production.
