Voicing Session

A voicing session is a studio booking where singers and deejays record vocals over an existing rhythm track — often several artists in one day — producing the stack of voicings that labels release over following weeks.

Why it matters: Session culture explains release clusters around hot riddims. It also shows how young artists gained exposure by voicing alongside established names at the same producer's studio.
