Voicing

A voicing is a singer or deejay's recorded performance on an existing rhythm track — the vocal cut that turns a band track or digital riddim into a finished song for release or sound-system play.

Why it matters: Jamaican hits are often many voicings on one instrumental. Tracking who voiced which riddim first, best, or most famously is core literacy for fans and catalogue builders.
