Rewind

A rewind is the crowd-demanded instant replay of a just-played track — the selector pulls the record back or restarts the digital file so dancers can hear a favourite drop again, often signalling a tune has "touched" the session.

Why it matters: Rewinds are real-time audience feedback in sound-system culture. Multiple rewinds elevate a track's status on the night and can accelerate a song's yard buzz before formal chart success.
