Dancehall Session

A dancehall session is a party built around a sound system — indoors or on a lawn — where selectors play, deejays may perform live, dancers showcase steps, and the crowd shapes the night through rewinds and energy.

Why it matters: Sessions are the live laboratory of dancehall. Hits often break in the session months before radio; dances like Passa Passa turned local sessions into global media events.
