Shenseea has released Never Gets Late Here, her second studio album, on Friday, May 24, 2024, through Rich Immigrants and Interscope Records. The 14-track, 36-minute set is executive-produced by London on da Track and features Wizkid, Anitta, Coi Leray, Masicka and Di Genius, according to the label announcement. The official video for “Flava,” with Coi Leray, shot in Kingston during carnival season, is out today.

“This album was curated with timeless records that appeal to many cultures,” Shenseea said in the announcement. “Still maintaining my Jamaican authenticity, I infused my affinity for other genres such as Pop and R&B. My fans will find summer anthems and songs to bring them motivation, joy and inspiration.” On the title, she told Apple Music: “Hearing that name, it gave me a sense of timeless music. It just never gets old.”
Who is on it
The record follows Alpha (2022), which debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart, and a run of singles this year: “Hit & Run” with Masicka and Di Genius in January, “Die For You” in March and “Neva Neva” in April. Production credits, per Wikipedia, spread from Jamaica — Di Genius, Rvssian, Supa Dups, Chimney Records, Romeich Entertainment — to Stargate, Tricky Stewart, Cubeatz, Banx & Ranx and London on da Track himself. “Dolla” samples Fat Joe and Ashanti’s “What’s Luv?” and interpolates Colin Lucas’s soca hit “Dollar Wine”; “NaNa” borrows from “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.” “Work Me Out,” with Wizkid, is a digital-only closer.
“I’ve always been an artist who just always tries new things because that’s how magic happens,” she said. “My album is so versatile. It’s almost like you can like this one today — but tomorrow is a different day.”
