Vybz Kartel has released Heart & Soul, an 11-track project that appeared without warning at midnight on Friday, August 29, 2025, through Greedy Lion and Vybz Kartel Muzik, 13th Street Promotions and Reggaeville report. The drop coincides with his return to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for another staging of Reggaefest tonight — a venue he has already sold out twice.
All 11 tracks are in the JamaicansMusic library, sourced from VybzKartelVEVO: press Play all above to hear the album while you read, open the Heart & Soul album page, or jump to the track-by-track player below.
Love songs, mostly
The title tells you the register. Kaboom describes the opener, “They’re Outta Love We Aren’t,” as a romantic dedication to his fiancée Sidem, and “I Know” as the viral hit that exploded on TikTok through a dance challenge. Most of the record was voiced in marathon studio sessions with longtime engineer RedBoom, with “In Too Deep” produced by his manager, TJ Records. Ishawna, who joined him on “Porn Flick” from January’s Viking anniversary edition, is the only feature, on “Bad Bad Bad.”
It caps a year of firsts since his release in July 2024: a first Grammy nomination, a homecoming concert in Kingston, the Viking anniversary set and, six weeks ago, his coronation as King of Dancehall at Reggae Sumfest. “Featuring 11 tracks, Vybz Kartel celebrates Dancehall, and over a year of freedom,” 13th Street writes.
