On 15 May 2026, Shaggy released Lottery — his 13-track studio album through Ranch Entertainment and VP Records, the Jamaica Gleaner confirmed on release day. Two-time Grammy winner and diamond-selling reggae-dancehall icon, Shaggy framed the project around a career-long philosophy: bet on yourself, trust your instincts, embrace creative risks. The Jamaica Observer had announced the album in March alongside lead single “Looking Lovely,” featuring Robin Thicke.

The Gleaner’s release-day interview listed collaborators across reggae, dancehall, pop and R&B: Sting (reuniting after 44/876), Beres Hammond, Robin Thicke, Akon, Jeremih, Anthony Hylton, Dexta Daps, Aidonia and 450. Tracks include “God Is Amazing,” “Boom Body,” “Looking Lovely,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Dancehall Nice” and the Jeremih-featured title song. Produced by Shaggy and Shane Hoosong, the set extends the crossover habit that began with “Oh Carolina” and scaled with “It Wasn’t Me” — pairing Caribbean rhythm with global guest voices.
Raising the stakes
On 18 September 2026, Shaggy released “Lottery 4.0,” an official remix of the title track featuring Jeremih, Rick Ross and Skillibeng, the Observer reported — four lanes of reggae, dancehall, hip hop and R&B on one record. Thirty-three years after his UK breakthrough, Shaggy was still stacking features and still betting on the hand he had been dealt in Kingston.
Why it matters
Lottery is Shaggy’s 16th album and his latest argument that the odds favour the artist who never stopped believing in the music — from Rae Town sound systems to VP’s global pipeline.
