BRUV Musiq Festival — Best Retro with Ultimate Vibes — returns for its third staging on Saturday, 7 November 2026, at Portmore Harbour Beach in St Catherine. Promoter Ricardo “Mansa Musa” Burnett has moved the event to Portmore to accommodate a larger audience and take the celebration to a community where Jamaican music and culture will be strongly appreciated, the Jamaica Observer reports.
Doors open at noon. The bill pairs live performances with three legendary sound systems — Metro Media, Stone Love and Renaissance — and selectors DJ Unit, DJ Yummi and DJ Dahdy Vybz. Lady Timry, Kelly Upsetter and Heartical host.
Homage to proven hitmakers
“This year, we decided to include live artistes to pay homage to some of the people who have made significant contributions to reggae and dancehall,” Burnett told the Observer. “These are proven hitmakers who helped to define the sound of the 1990s and early 2000s, but many of them are not receiving the recognition they deserve today.”
Burnett said BRUV has received strong support from patrons over its previous stagings, while ticket sales for this year’s event have been encouraging. His long-term vision is to establish BRUV as a major festival brand capable of expanding beyond Jamaica into the Caribbean and the Jamaican diaspora.
The line-up
Confirmed live acts:
- Tanya Stephens — among dancehall’s leading female voices, per the Observer
- Zebra — one of the most popular deejays of his era; his BRUV appearance is expected to mark his first major event since his release from prison
- I Wayne and Warrior King — representing the roots-reggae resurgence of the early 2000s
- Bascom X — a respected early-2000s hitmaker who has recently drawn renewed attention online through his Jimmy Dread character and videos
- Junior Cat
- General B and Round Head — both noted as members of Monster Shack Crew
- Nitty Kutchie — recognised as a member of Scare Dem Crew
Portmore on the calendar
The Harbour Beach move lands weeks after Masicka announced the inaugural Forever1NE Music Festival at Caymanas Park in December — another Portmore headline date on the 2026 dancehall calendar. BRUV’s retro-leaning bill sits on the other side of that spectrum: catalogue artists and sound-system culture rather than a single-artist homecoming.
