Berisford Hammond (born 28 August 1955) is widely regarded as Jamaica's greatest romantic voice. His brand of lover's rock — warm, soulful, and emotionally direct — has earned him a devoted following across four decades.
Albums like *A Love Affair* (1992) and *Love from a Distance* (1992) are considered landmarks of Jamaican roots and lover's rock. His collaborations with producers Donovan Germain at Penthouse Records produced some of his most beloved recordings.
Hammond's voice — rich, controlled, and instantly recognizable — remains one of Jamaica's most treasured musical gifts.
