Malie Donn has landed his debut studio album, The Golden Child, on 4 September 2026 through VP Records. The 21-track set follows his The Grand Rising EP (2024) and Leak the Hard Drive EP (2025) on the same label, the Jamaica Observer noted at release. In chart coverage published 11 October 2026, the Observer reports The Golden Child at #1 on Apple Music’s Reggae Albums chart in Bermuda, St Lucia and the Turks and Caicos Islands. It placed #2 in Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, Guyana and Anguilla. On the overall Apple Music Albums chart, the paper records peaks at #3 in Jamaica, St Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda. Reggae Albums rankings of #4 in the UK and Canada and #5 in the US are also cited, with further chart presence in France, Denmark, Singapore and Portugal.

Release week and the road to London

The Observer ties the album’s momentum to a sold-out headline date at indigo at The O2 in London on 5 September 2026 and to Apple Music placing Malie Donn on the cover of its Reggae playlist in release week. Apple Music lists The Golden Child as a 21-song, roughly hour-long set on VP Records; Qobuz mirrors the same track count and running time.

On VP Records’ artist page, Malie Donn — born Kimalie Hylton in Spanish Town and raised in Waterford, Portmore — is framed as a dancehall voice blending melodic flow, trap-infused production and street-facing storytelling. The label credits his 2023 breakout “V6”, the 2024 Grand Rising project, 2025 awards at the Caribbean Music Awards and International Reggae & World Music Awards, and a sold-out Brooklyn Navy Yard show in May 2026 before The Golden Child arrived.
