Glen Washington, the Jamaican-born roots singer from May Pen, has signed an exclusive management agreement with Donsome Records, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia, according to a press release dated October 1, 2026. Adrian “Donsome” Hanson will lead career management, catalog and publishing administration, marketing, live strategy and booking for the veteran vocalist.

The release names two recent projects in the frame: the single “Sound Victory” (July 2026) and the album Just Giving Thanks. The Donsome team is reviewing festival and venue opportunities for 2027, the press release says.

A voice that waited, then endured

Washington’s career stretches across five decades. He made his first hit, “Rockers Not Crackers,” for Joe Gibbs in 1978, then went quiet on the charts until Kindness For Weakness broke through in 1998, the Wikipedia entry records. His breakthrough album Brother to Brother (1999) was produced by Clement ‘Coxson’ Dodd at Studio One; his association with Lloyd Campbell and VP Records yielded Get Next to You, which carried “Kindness For Weakness” and “Jah Glory,” the Jamaica Star noted in 2022.

He has been a fixture on the festival circuit. Glen Washington appeared on the Rebel Salute 2023 bill at Plantation Cove alongside Tony Rebel, Third World and Horace Andy, and returned for Rebel Salute 2024 with Anthony B, Sanchez and Mikey Spice. He is a two-time Grammy nominee, per Wikipedia.

Recent music

Just Giving Thanks arrived in July 2025 on Tad’s Record, a 14-track set of lovers rock and conscious roots. Lead single “Better Than Before” reached number eight on Jamaica’s JAM Airplay chart that year, Wikipedia records. Washington and Hanson had already worked together on Donsome’s Black Tears Riddim in 2020, contributing “Holding On to a Feeling,” Riddimstyle reported.

“Sound Victory,” issued in July 2026, is a collaboration with French producer Kazamix on Kazamix Records.

What changes

The October 1 press release places Donsome Records at the centre of Washington’s next chapter: management, publishing, marketing and live booking under one Atlanta roof. Hanson’s Donsome operation already manages bookings for Marcia Griffiths and has published for Spice, per Jamaica Star reporting. The 2027 festival and venue review signals a push back onto the international stage.
