Capleton (Clifton George Bailey III) and Evidence Music have publicly put the 2026 album Heights Of Fire forward for Grammy consideration. On 13 October 2026 the sing-jay’s official X account @capletonmusic posted a for-your-consideration message aimed at Recording Academy voters: “🔥 FOR YOUR GRAMMY® CONSIDERATION 🔥 Evidence Music is proud to present Capleton — Heights Of Fire for consideration for Best Reggae Album.” The post continues that the album is “a powerful new chapter in Capleton’s legendary career, an album rooted in consciousness, spirituality,” and tags #Capleton. DancehallMag reported the campaign on 14 October 2026, noting the Evidence Music push for Heights Of Fire in the Best Reggae Album field.
Important: this is a for-your-consideration campaign by the artist and label. It is not a Recording Academy nomination. Nominations are announced separately by the Academy after its own screening and voting process.
Nine tracks from Heights Of Fire are in our Listen library. Press Play all above, open the Heights Of Fire album page, or scroll to the tracklist below. Capleton’s official site lists 12 tracks on the release; the three titles not yet in our player are noted at the end of this piece.
The album
Heights Of Fire arrived on 26 June 2026 through Evidence Music, per capletonmusic.com. The label site offers the project on vinyl, CD, cassette and digital. Collaborators listed there include Derrick Sound, Little Lion Sound, Eesah, Mista Savona, Mixing Finga, Damian Marley, Stephen Marley and L’Entourloop.
The X post frames the set in spiritual terms — consciousness and faith — which aligns with the Fireman’s long shift from slackness-era dancehall toward roots fire and Rastafari testimony. Heights Of Fire is billed as a new chapter, not a retreat from the stage energy that made Bailey a festival staple across Jamaica and the diaspora.

Grammy context
Bailey is no stranger to the Best Reggae Album shortlist. Grammy.com records one nomination in the category — Still Blazin at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards (2003 ceremony cycle). Lee “Scratch” Perry’s Jamaican E.T. took the trophy that year.
That history sits apart from this week’s X post — archive context, not news of a new nomination. Whether Heights Of Fire advances through the Academy’s screening process will be known only when official nominations are announced.
Heritage
Capleton emerged from Saint Mary Parish and the St. Andrew sound-system circuit in the late 1980s, then burned through the 1990s as The Fireman — a deejay who could ride hard dancehall riddims and, after his turn toward Bobo Ashanti consciousness, preach purification and African redemption with equal conviction. Albums such as Prophet and I Testament fixed his spiritual vocabulary in the culture; decades on, Evidence Music still carries releases under his own banner while the live show remains a test of stamina and message.
Why it matters
Grammy season brings a wave of label-sponsored FYC posts from Kingston to California. For Capleton, the timing puts a June album back in front of voters who weigh roots reggae, dancehall and diaspora production in a single category. Heights Of Fire already has a retail life on physical formats — a signal that the project was built for collectors as well as streams. The X campaign is the public ask; the music is where Bailey makes the case.
