Zenji San

Zenji San was born Zenji Ingham in Hamilton, Bermuda. It was here while at a tender age, he began his foray into music at high high school learning the piano, saxophone and clarinet. This early training traveled with him as he went on to perform for the Premiere of Bermuda and the Jackson School of Performing Arts. When he went on to college, he joined a harmony group called World of Culture who performed at numerous events all over South Florida. When he returned to Bermuda after college, it was time for Zenji to pursue his solo music career. He started by recording songs and performing at local events, including opening for the female reggae sound system Hemo & MooFire and Japanese reggae dancehall queen Junko. He later went on to perform with local bands such as Jahstice and cover band Left Lucy. More recently however, he performed at Culture Shock 2007 at the Somerset Cricket Club in Bermuda by opening for Allaine, Gyptian and Buju Banton. In June of 2008, he opened for Tokyo/Jamiaca based sound system Baddy 45 at the Devonshire Recreational Club. Zenji has also performed at Snorkel Park Bermuda where he opened for Mavado and Tony Matterhorn in 2009. He opted for a more global route in 2010 as he performed at various venues in New York City with charitable arts foundation Chewstick. With his string of performances behind him, Zenji looks to the future to continue doing what he loves and spreading his talent wherever dancehall and reggae music thrive.
