UB40

UB40 are an English reggae band, formed in December 1978 in Birmingham, England. The band has had more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart and has also achieved considerable international success. They have been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times and were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group in 1984. UB40 have sold more than 100 million records worldwide. The ethnic make-up of the band's original line-up was diverse, with musicians of English, Welsh, Irish, Jamaican, Scottish and Yemeni parentage.

    UB40 readies 20th album

    Known for singles including 'Red Red Wine', 'Can't Help Falling in Love', 'I Got You Babe', and 'Food for Thought', UB40 has remained as one of the most prolific Reggae bands since the late 1970's and now embarks on releasing their 20th studio album, the first since 2010's 'Labour of Love IV'.

    Original UB40 lead vocalists Astro and Ali Campbell to reunite

    In what would be their first performance in close to six years of separating, UB40's founder and former frontman Ali Campbell will join forces with Astro at Campbell's December 6th concert at the O2's IndigO2 along with original UB40 keyboardist Mickey Virtue.

    Lord Creator, the Trinidad-Born Voice of ‘Independent Jamaica’ and ‘Kingston Town,’ Dies at 87

    Kenrick ‘Lord Creator’ Patrick died at home in Golden Grove, Hanover, on Friday, June 30, 2023. He arrived in Kingston in 1962 and wrote the anthem of Jamaica’s first Independence; his 1970 ‘Kingston Town’ became a UK No. 4 for UB40 two decades later. Eight months earlier he had collected the Order of Distinction from a wheelchair.
