Eva Hype
Stefan Ricardo “Eva Hype” Bowes was born on March 14th, 1993 in Kingston, Jamaica. Stefan grew up in Kingston all his life. He hails from a nuclear family, two parents and a sister, all of whom are trained teachers. \n \nFrom birth Stefan is said to have always had a profound love for music. At the tender age of 9, he and his three “God – brothers” formed a gospel music group. The group was well received by the Church but was short lived due to ill-management and a lack of direction. \n \nBefore he began song writing, he worked as a disc jockey for two sound systems. The first being “Ineveitable Sound”, with his long time friend and now Track & Field sensation, Julian Forte and label mate Nickolai “Propa Fade” Davis. The second being, “Silver Tone Sound” with his schoolmate Joel “Flexx” Spencer. \n \nThe experience was underwhelming on first instance and it is then Stefan fell in love with songwriting. \nStefan began writing in late 2007 and by March 19, 2008 he had his first studio session. At this early stage in his career, Julian Forte was instrumental as it is he who helped hone Stefan’s ability to create melody and an understanding of rhythmic patterns. It wasn’t until 2009, that Eva burst onto the underground music scene with his club banger entitled “Long Before” A song which some critics and fans believe is an instant classic. \nA few months after the buzz from “Long Before” and few other singles such as “We Made It” had died; Eva was forced to look for a new artistic home due to Propa Fade’s decision to migrate to Canada. He was then introduced to Mario Dunwell through a Shaq Buchanan, who is a mutual friend and Mario’s manager. \n \nThe first single the two worked on entitled “I Got You” was a huge success and has been played on radio stations everywhere in the Caribbean and in England as well. The second single they worked on together entitled “Without You” also saw huge success but had to be pulled of the airwaves due to unauthorized sampling of Barry Manilow’s voice from his song also entitled “Without You”. \n \nIn 2010 Eva burst onto the scene with his debut mixtape entitled "Music & Her" and his single Lovers Go produced by Mario Dunwell has become popular in Jamaica and the official video has gotten great reviews on the internet . Know for witty lyrics and extravagant style, 17 years old "Eva Hype" is on "the brink of greatness" and is sure to make a permanent mark on the Jamaican and Global music scene.
