He candidly told the Jamaica Observer, "When somebody mentioned to me that I won an Emmy, I was like 'What's that?'. It's not like the Grammys when you know you are nominated and there is a lot of buzz around that... so I never expected it, but it feels good."

I Love You Too was recorded after Marley was contacted by representatives from 3rd and Bird following the release of his children's album, Family Time in 2009. He and the Melody Makers had previously appeared on the prominent American children's show, Sesame Street while Marley himself featured as a voice on another children's program, Shark Tale.

"For the Emmy to acknowledge and recognize us [Reggae music] in this form is something new for us, and is definitely a step forward," 44-year-old Marley explained to the Observer.
