Opening with a clip from Winford Williams' Saturday-night-aired program, On Stage, the mini-documentary acknowledged the passage of the lyrical baton from generation to generation.
"Now Dancehall has always had two kingpins, who as we say, 'run-di-place'," expressed a gesticulating Williams. "Like Ninja Man and Shabba Rank in the 1980s, Beenie and Bounty for almost 20 years, then the bitter Gaza-Gully-war with Mavado and Kartel," he continued, leading to narrator Codine Williams introducing the "charismatic" Popcaan.
Dating back to the 20th staging of Reggae Sumfest, the documenting crew caught up with the artiste during his rehearsal for his performance at the famous Big Yard studios in Kingston where they got a glimpse of the 'Dancehall Emperor', Shabba Ranks, in his element.
Though the documentary didn't host an interview with the artiste, they did attend Popcaan's birthday party and spoke with a few locals.
Gear up for that 'Party Shot' vibe for this episode.
