Chimney Records producers Jordan McClure and David Hayle looking to further champion their reputation, ranking among Jamaica's most prolific production house today.

Ever since Chimney Records' first release in 2007, producers Jordan McClure and David Hayle have indefinitely established their label as a household name within the Jamaican music circuit. Known for a slew of chart topping hits such as Star Bwoy by Mavado, Chill Spot by Chris Martin as well as riddims Summer Fling, Money Box and Island Vibes to name a few, the duo approaches 2013 with no reservations to outdo their previous productions. Here's a Jamaicansmusic.com exclusive with Jordan McClure:

Jamaicansmusic.com: Just to give our fans an idea of your catalogue, name some artistes you've recorded.

Chimney Records: Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man, Konshens, Zagga, Aidonia, I-Octane, Tarrus Riley, Chris Martin, Serani, Bramma, Di Genius, Chino, Cecile, Alaine, TOK, Sizzla Kalonji, Wayne Wonder and many many more over the years.

JAMusic: What inspired you to become a producer?

Chimney: We wanted to participate and immerse ourselves in the creation of the music we love so much and production was for us, the best way to do that.

JAMusic
: What was the very first song you recorded/ produced?

Chimney: Probably a freestyle of just us and some friends way back before we even had a toe through the door...but some of the absloute earliest records we actually produced and released were on a juggling we did in '07 called 'Natural Disaster', which included songs such as 'Dem Hype' by Sizzla and 'Wine Pon Yuh' by Kartel.

JAMusic
: What do you think is the most difficult thing about your job and how do you overcome it?

Chimney: Probably balancing the creative side with the business side. Sometimes focusing too much on one aspect can lead to a lapse in the other so we try to keep things balanced by setting clear goals and targets and doing our best to meet them while still enjoying the music making process throughout.

JAMusic: What do you think separates Chimney Records from other production houses?

Chimney
: We try to keep things fresh and unique, and the influence from the myriad genres of music we listen to ideally comes through in our records.

JAMusic
: What can we expect from Chimney Records in 2013?

Chimney
: We'll be working on a bunch of projects this year...both juggling and singles and lots of material with our artiste Zagga. Also our official home on the web chimneyrecords.net will be coming online really soon.

JAMusic:Are you working on any projects you would like to give us some insiders on?

Chimney: We're currently finishing up a new dancehall jugglin with tracks from Mavado, Aidonia, Demarco, Octane and several others, and we also have another live one drop in the works to follow up "Tropical Escape".

JAMusic: What will you be doing differently with your music this year from last year?

Chimney
: Probably just putting out more content and trying out and infusing new ideas that we've come up with.

JAMusic: How do you ensure that the music you produce is authentically Jamaican especially in the wake of "crossover" trends.

Chimney: When all is said and done its for the fans of the music to decide what they like and want to support. Music is nothing if not constantly evolving. We just try to stay true to our core ideal which is to make great music that we're happy with and happy to share with the world.

JAMusic: What philosophy do you live by when it comes to your music production?

Chimney:
We're always challenging ourselves to push the boundaries of what we can achieve in terms of quality and charachter of our productions.

JAMusic: Where do you want to see the music industry in another decade and what role will you play in this?

Chimney
: Ideally the formal business framework and infrastructure behind the music will become firmly established to the benefit of all the players in the industry. We hope that by moving to establish our own frameworks we can promote similar action throughout the industry.

JAMusic
: Any New Year resolution?

Chimney
: Just to continue releasing music that we are proud of for the fans to enjoy.

JAMusic
: Final comments (anything you'd like to share/ where can fans find you?)

Chimney
: Thanks to everyone for all the support and looking forward to a great 2013! facebook.com/chimneyrecords
