JAmusic: Music lovers globally will always be looking for that new, impeccable sound that can be looked upon as leaders of the new wave of vocalists. How would you define a musical genius that can eventually become a vocal leader? RT: To have your own sound and style that sounds like no other is the key to becoming a vocal leader
JAmusic: Some of the most genius artistes have thrived when taking chances and innovating. How important/present is that on the soundscape today; from what you've seen and that might have help in composing your singles?RT: It's always important to take chances in your musical venture , it shows versatility and show your comfortable with whatever music it is that you can make it good to your fans even if their not into the sound
JAmusic: How do you think a single such as “Bad Man” has impacted your growing fan base as well as attracted new listeners?RT: The Single Badman has got good feedback from the fans , along with the Skrillex remix its attracted a load more fans
JAmusic: What's the biggest risk you've taken artistically; one that went over surprisingly well and one that might've gone over people's heads? RT: Risk is a harsh word to use we think , we done a album with a group called US3 , it was a jazz album called "Rinsin Lyrics" it was signed to Emi records , it was a well produced album , was well talked about in the commercial industry , we think it wasn't managed well as US3 had previous hits and we was top of our game , that would be a project that might have gone over people's head
JAmusic: Who's the artiste that keeps you on your toes? Pushes you to go harder?RT: We push each other to go harder , we also have a crew called RTC with couple younger artist and they looking up to us so we can't drop off so they are pushing us as well ... Pedro Slimer and Mtek
JAmusic: When you got into the music business where did you think you'd be today or where did you see yourself fitting in at the moment? RT: We never thought we would be anywhere where we are now , we knew we were good artist and we just went on the musical journey and see where it takes us , we just give thanks.
JAmusic: What's one song that you hold close to you because of a particular line or better yet what's the most philosophical quote you've heard in a song that you hold close to your heart?RT: Don't really have a song there's actually to many , there's loads of songs that can fit that category but no special one
JAmusic: We live in an era where the average person's attention span is limited to what they want to see or hear. What are you doing differently that will hold their attention? RT: Just doing different genres of music to hold their attention , it's always good when your fans hear you on a track that they not use to hearing you on
JAmusic: With success comes a lot of negative feedback, how do you react or deal with negativity?RT: All publicity is good publicity , a common musical statement that we stick by
JAmusic: What kind of future plans have you set for yourself as an artiste (to accomplish and maintain)?RT: We just plan to make good music and put on good shows , we at a stage in our career where we are established artist with a massive fan base , it's just good that the people still hold us in high regard
JAmusic: What insight can you give on the power of music and its ability to communicate certain messages verbally and non-verbally? And what do you think your music represent?RT: Music is the biggest messenger in the world and has so many voices sending so many messages it also brings comfort and joy , our music represents the life we lived
JAmusic: What's the purpose on your musical journey? What's the message you're trying to give?RT: We here for the people , to bring joy and happiness , comfort and entertainment our msg is "music is life"
