read full storyWord, Sound and Power is a Jamaican reggae band formed in 1976 as Peter Tosh's backing band after Tosh left The Wailers.
Tosh and the band toured America in 1976 and they famously played at the One Love Peace Concert. The band included players such as Sly and Robbie, Al Anderson, Noel Simms, Uziah Thompson, Keith Sterling, Mikey Chung and Keith Sterling.
The band later went on to tour with Black Uhuru, by which point Sly and Robbie were replaced by Carlton "Santa" Davis on drums and George "Fully" Fullwood on bass.
