read full storyEmerging Dancehall artist, Brandon Ryan Campbell, may be more popularly known as Touchless, but his music and lyrical content are sure to make you feel the vibe in any setting imaginable.
With a pulsating sound filled with a mix of edge and confidence, Touchless has long possessed the motivation to become a dedicated musician. Growing up in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, the determined young deejay/songwriter has always done music reflective of his life’s trials and triumphs. Inspired by legendary acts such as Bounty Killer, Ninja Man, Shabba Ranks, Tenor Saw, Nicodemus, Spragga Benz and late great Reggae icon, Bob Marley, the entertainer was introduced to music during his childhood as his father had a sound system, dubbed Discipline, where he was exposed to the classic music of such entertainers and many others.
In 2006, while residing in Toronto, Canada, Touchless became fully immersed in music as he aimed to make it his career. After doing his first recordings with the likes of Smoke Shop Studios and Big Hand Studio, the up-and-coming artist performed at various clubs, banquet halls and basement parties to showcase his potential to the Canadian music scene while performing at Jamaican parties to continue building a connection with his local following. He also forged a partnership with disc jock, DJ Grumpy was featured on other compilations involving some of Dancehall’s biggest names.
By 2008, Touchless unveiled his debut mixtape (mixed by DJ Grumpy), garnering him instant appeal. His hard work and will to perfect his craft culminated in a banner year in 2009, when he performed at Windsor Sports Weekend while touring throughout Canada while featuring on several interviews across the country.
As a new decade commenced, Touchless’ determination was rewarded as he travelled to his native Jamaica, where he worked with established record outlets such as Anchor Studio, Kirkledove Records, Vision House Records, Dre Day Productions and Reggae legend, Beres Hammond’s Harmony House label.
In 2013, Touchless is poised for his big breakthrough as he releases his new collaboration, Work It, featuring prominent Dancehall diva, Spice. This sultry joint effort features a raunchy, hardcore feel that provokes many thoughts and is sure to connect with street dances and clubs in Jamaica and Canada as the chemistry between the two entertainers is unquestioned.
The song has already gotten consistent attention from Jamaican radio stations, with a soca remix in the works to accommodate the Carnival season. Scoring interviews on Nationwide FM and Hit 92 FM, while featuring on mixtapes by Nitro CD Sound and DJ Loudmouth, Touchless’ exposure grows by the moment, showing his stock can grow as the hits keep coming.
