read full storyIn 2009, Media House OutAroad.com Production recording artist Tiana became the latest addition to the small batch of budding female dancehall/reggae artists on the rise. She embodies a seemingly shy yet confident persona. Tiana's first single, "I Won't", produced by her manager Carlington Wilmot for his Media House OutAroad.com Production label …comes in the wake of events surrounding R&B's hit couple Rihanna and Chris Brown's domestic violence incident.
In the catchy tune, Tiana tackles the plight of domestic violence, citing the similar situations of other women. With her vocal ability, she aptly reminds us that violence against women is unconscionable and women have been afflicted for too long with domestic violence.
"I Won't" is not only her first single, but also her first attempt at recording in a professional studio.
A few months later Tiana voiced her second single called You Want Me in collaboration with the True Love hit maker Delus(Brother of Konshens). However, Tiana got her first chart topper when she invited dancer turned pop artiste Chi Ching Ching to join her on the smashing hit single Skippin Feelin which was once again produced by her Manager Carlington Wilmot who also wore the directors cap for the making of the video. Both the video and single rocks up several number ones and top ten placements locally and internationally.
After that the rest was history as the diva finally began to feel what it’s like to live her dream of becoming a star.
In that same year she got her first taste of performing on the greatest one night show on earth (Sting)…Her next major performance was at Spring Break in Negril. Being listed as the opening-act for Platinum recoding artiste Shaggy and Elephant Man Tiana went on stage to give a short but energetic performance. She was also featured on the Portland’s leg of the Magnum Ten Long Ten Strong Stage Show road tour.
Within 2009 and 2010 Tiana’s sexy and beautiful vocals has graced several hit projects such as the Glory Riddim produced by Cashflow ft. big acts like Vybz Kartel, G Whizz, Charly Blacks, Black Ryno and Tiana with “Inna 2010” which can be defined as an anthem in countries such as Gambia, Bahamas and the UK.
Up next was the Romeich Records Stage Mix produced riddim on which she voiced a song called More Money. The Stage Mix Riddim that also features dancehall heavy weights such as Beenie Man, Mavado, Cobra and TOK.
Tiana also had a winner on the Flirtation Riddim with “Dat Mi Want”…This project also hosts top acts such as Vybz Kartel and Konshens. However Tiana’s biggest hit to-date is No Man Cant Talk Bad Bout Mi which was produced by D&H and Konshens’ SubkonShus Label. The song racked up several number ones, making its debut at #1 on the popular CVM Hitlist Video Count Down Chart, and dominated the #1 spot for four weeks on Wave Radio's Starlight Saturdays Top Ten Count Down in Belize. Meanwhile the song has made its presence felt on several other charts around the Globe.
Hailing from the same parish (St. Mary) as the Queen of Dancehall Lady Saw it is deserving to say that Tiana is the Princes of Dancehall.
With Tiana being one of the fastest rising female artistes…she believes the key to being successful in the male dominated arena is to work twice as hard, stay focus, believe in what you are doing and most importantly having a good manager is the #1 ingredient.
