read full storyPerforming since the age of 4, Prophet-Z first took the stage at the tender age of six as a young emcee and proceeded to win several talent contests and a variety of shows. Over the years, he has formulated his craft to encompass an eclectic mix of Reggae, Soul and Rhythm and Blues. Prophet-Z has been an opening act for the likes of Hip Hop Legend, Big Daddy Kane and Toronto’s own Maestro Fresh Wes.
Prophet-Z currently resides in New York where he continues to perform in various urban venues. No stranger to the music scene in Toronto, he has lent his talents over the years to a variety of musical genres and events:
• Headlined shows with the likes of Buju Banton, Papa San and Damian
Marley
• Performed for dignitaries such as Nelson Mandela
Armed with a unique sound, Prophet-Z has come to spread a message to Dancehall and Reggae fans that good music still exists. Having recently inked a deal with independent record label, Hy-Lyfe Digital Inc., Prophet-Z has released a 5-track Reggae/Dancehall EP, entitled TVM2, under 21st-Hapilos Digital Distribution. The release has generated quite a buzz in the underground music scene which has garnered the artist much attention.
On February 1, 2012, Prophet-Z appeared on BET’s television show, Wild-Out Wednesdays, as the first Dancehall/Reggae artist, where he debuted his hit single, Money, live as a spotlight act. The world watched Prophet-Z as he used the platform to make his entry into the greater entertainment arena.
Prophet-Z has demonstrated his versatility as an artist, producer, writer and composer. Prophet-Z’s emcee style and energetic performances have gained him much respect from his musical peers.
