read full storyJoy Creed, Winner of the 22nd Annual Canadian Reggae Music Award for TOP FEMALE GOSPEL REGGAE ARTIST, CANADA, is a gospel singer/songwriter originally from Jamaica. Joy's inspirational writing and singing is a cross between Tracy Chapman, Lauryn Hill, Gladys Knight and Candi Staton.
Joy has a unique and fresh anointing for today’s generation. She believes that God chooses and uses ordinary people to proclaim His gospel. Joy’s ministry puts a strong emphasis on the love, compassion, grace, forgiveness and mercy of Jesus Christ. She sings songs of comfort, encouragement, and deliverance. Combining truth & real life experiences in her music. Joy has been able to connect with people of all ages and ethnicities through various genres.
It was after Joy accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour in her late teens, that she began to understand God's calling on her life. Since then, Joy has been writing and singing for the Lord.
In 1986, Joy joined the group called ’The Jubilees’ as a back-up singer and has also sung lead on many occasions. Simultaneously, she also celebrated with the Jubilee's the recording of their first album titled "I Believe." She has performed at various churches and concert venues in Jamaica, the U.S.A. and Canada.
Joy’s music, mission and vision is proof that the gospel of Jesus Christ and His love shining through believers, can send a ‘ray of hope’ into the lives of individuals. Consequently, it is to no ones surprise, that she tries to live God's word by giving back to the community. Joy actively supports the Maxfield Park Children’s Home in Kingston, Jamaica through monetary means and donations of food, clothing, and educational materials. In addition, Joy is also actively involved with other missions in Ghana, West Africa, and Toronto, Ontario.
Her Award Winning debut album – ‘Lily of the Valley,’ includes songs of Joy’s original composition.
