Jah Pickney has performed with and recorded with many of the world's top artists and has performed at Reggae Sumfest, the World's largest reggae festival in Montego Bay Jamaica and many other places around the world.
Jah Pickney has been proclaimed an authentic Dancehall Reggae artist being said to "bust tunes just like a true Jamaican." Jah Pickneys debut album, Jah Love, was released on May 30, 2000, on his own label, Jah Yout Productions. Jah Yout Productions released Jah Pickneys second album, From the Heart, on January 22, 2002. In 2003 this album received two nominations in the 3rd Annual Hopeton Lewis Caribbean Gospel Music Awards. Jah Pickney's award winning third album Ghetto Redemption was released July 26, 2005.
It's jam-packed with 15 tracks of hard-hitting dancehall reggae music, with elements of roots, lover's rock, dub, hip-hop and soca. The entire project gives off more of a raw street vibe, making this album Jah Pickney's truest venture in reggae music. This album earned Jah Pickney 4 award nominations and won a Marlin Award for International Caribbean Recording of the Year in 2006. Guest artists include Dunamis and Prodigal Son. In 2009 Jah Pickney was married to Marie-Eve, his backup singer/dancer. Since then Jah Pickney has included his beautiful bride in his music and live performances to a greater degree including some duet tracks such as the hit single "Virtuous."
This combination of female singer and male deejay has been well received and adds a wonderful dimension to Jah Pickney's music. According to Jah Pickney, "Reggae music is one of the most influential means of communicating to the masses in Jamaica and around the world, as this genre of music is becoming more popular." Jah Pickney wants to communicate true faith, morality and the gospel through a genre that has been largely used by many artists to convey messages of cults, drugs, sex and violence
