Bragga Dat was born Everal Ralston on 11th March 1979 in Arnette Garden, Kingston 12, Jamaica, where he grew up with his Mother and eleven siblings. One dozen children of which he is the second to last. Everal attended the Greenwhich All-Age School on Spanish Town Road up to grade 9 and enjoyed playing football and swimming in his spare time. At age 19 he went on his own to venture into life. He was fascinated by the dancehall culture and wanted to be a part of it some way or the other but was busy earning a living by fishing. While on the long journeys out to sea he would meditate and think of lyrics in his head, hoping to record a song one day. Finally, he made it happen by doing a demo at Mannix Studio, in the 2mile area after which everyone encouraged him to persue a career in music because he had great potential.

In January 2008 Bragga Dat voiced on the 300 Round Riddim courtesy of Time Travel Productions and UIM Productions in Stony Hill. With his determination and eagerness to thrive in the entertainment business, he decided to release the song on his own, without the producers consent. He made several copies and gave them out to the selectors in his area. With the help of popular selector Little Richie who played the song first Bragga Dat's song "Dagga Dat" became the most anticipated and important tune for the dancehall hardcore segment. The ladies would go all out on the dance floor when they hear the smooth and unique flow of Bragga Dat and the selectors would have to play the song more than once. Most declare it to be the best daggering tune for the summer.

At weekly, in-the-streets events such as Bosey Tuesdays, Girls Gone Wild, Passa Passa, Bembe, Weddy-Weddy, Day Rave and Feelings Fridays the selectors allowed Bragga Dat to perform his hot single live for the partrons. At the stage show Fully Loaded, Voicemail called Bragga dat on stage to perform his song during their time and Tony Matterhorn did the same at Kurt Riley’s Birthday Party, held at the Assylum Night Club, where he performed on several occasions. “Flick dem like a dollar coin, roll dem like a ten cents”, Propper to di fullest” and “Daggering never postpone” are some of his signature talks.

Bragga dat is busy in the studios working on new singles. So far he has recorded tracks for Cutty at Copper Shot Studios, Penny Bling at Equiknoxx Production, SK and LA Lewis and is endorsing his song by doing dubplates and drops for the radio stations local and abroad
