Biography
read full storyQueen Omega is a reggae singer who hails from San Fernando, Trinidad.
She began her music career by entering local talent shows, but at the time, she focused mainly on calypsos as that was what was popular in Trinidad at the time. Her exposure led her to sing backing vocals for local producer Kenny Philips both in studio recordings and live shows. Her music soon began to change as she started listening to more reggae and dancehall as she converted to Rastafarianism.
It was on a trip to Jamaica with the Solomon Band where she performed at the Caribbean Music Expo 2000 that she met producer Mickey Dd, who took her to London in 2001 for recording sessions that resulted in the production of her debut album "Queen Omega". She followed this with a few quick singles and another album called "Pure Love". Queen Omega went gone on to produce a total of 5 albums, that included some of her most popular songs such as "Selassie I Know", "Me Beg Yu", "destiny", "Love Each Other" and "No Retire".
She continues to tour Europe and perform at some of the largest Reggae festivals across the globe, such as Reggae Rising in the US, JaSound in France and the African Music Festival in Germany. She is currently operating out of London and is working tirelessly with French production team Bost & Bim and the label Special Delivery to produce a new album.
