Demand for pre-sold tickets has so far been impressive, driven by the incredible line up which includes veterans Buju Banton and Beres Hammond as well as crowd favourite Chronixx. The three have been the centre of a catchy marketing strategy dubbed ‘Sumfest to B.B.C. Additionally, festival night one, being held on July 19 will feature a ‘90’s Recall’ with dancehall legends Beenie Man and Bounty Killer who will be performing together ‘’tune fi tune’’. Other acts to look out for include Tarrus Riley, Protoje, Jah 9, Spice, Dexta Daps, Christopher Martin, and X Factor UK winner Dalton Harris.

DSE boss Joe Bogdanovich noted, “a lot of work has gone into making this staging of Sumfest the best one ever. Everything from the logistics to the lineup have been carefully considered. The response so far in terms of ticket sales as well as local and international media coverage shows that fans are excited. We work extremely hard to ensure that each year is better than the last, so that brand Jamaica is shown to the world in the best light possible. I am certain that we will achieve that with this year’s festival”.

So far, jam packed launch events have been held in Trinidad and Tobago and New York. The Reggae Sumfest week of events will kick off on July 14 with the Sumfest Mawnin Medz beach party and followed by the Street Dance, all white party, all black Blitz party, Global Sound Clash as well as the Reggae Sumfest Symposium.
