With the conclusion of Ky-mani Marley's Konfrontation European Summer Tour, the artiste is headed back to studio to complete his imminent 5th studio album "Evolution of a Revolution".
Fans have long awaited the release of the album since it was first announced in 2009.
Marley told Jamaicansmusic.com that fans can expect a double disc compilation this time around sharing, "the 'Revolution' will be for those who have taken the time to listen to me before - that fusion between your grassroots dancehall and hip hop- that whole urban culture. And the 'Evolution' side is where reggae music meets the world - for me it's like the heartbeat or root of reggae music with the undertone of a Latin feel or what would be considered contemporary rock or the indie "top 40" kind of sound."
The "Evolution" side of the album is mostly self produced while the "Revolution" side features several renown producer.
So far he has unofficially released the singles "Hey" from the Evolution side of his album and also "Armed and Dangerous" from the Revolution side. His son KJ, upcoming rap artiste signed to his Konfrontation Musik record label, is also featured on the latter.
Otherwise no collaborations have been sealed at moment about which Marley declared,"I haven't done any collaborations as yet, looking forward to a few- I don't really have any one in particular in mind, I'm just seeing how the energy moves and see what will fall in place naturally."
The album will be released via the Evolution of A Revolution record label. Although it was expected to be finally released this September, it seems fans will have to wait a little while longer for the official release date.
Otherwise, Ky-mani is busy with artistes for his Konfrontation Musik label including his son KJ, songstress Nyla (formerly of Brick& Lace) and country artist Big Kenny.
