The 25 year old artiste is best known to Jamaicans for her 2006 hit single “Weakness in Me” and has chosen Jamaica as the place to reveal her new lead single, following her soulful performance as the main headline act at Rocatone Promotions’ Black and White Ball that was recently held for the first time in Jamaica on December 28, 2013.
‘Valentines’ is the first release of Keisha’s new tracks and features the vocals of Grammy Award winning Dancehall Artiste, Moses ‘Beenie Man’ Davis who helped to give the song an irresistible Jamaican groove without losing its passionate essence. The track was recently recorded in Jamaica at his studio and will hit the air via (digital / radio?) this week.
“The song sends the message ‘I want us to be together’ without being without being afraid, [or] shy to say how you’re really feeling. This I believe shouldn’t just be on February 14. I have been a massive fan of Beenie Man from my early teen years with ‘Who Am I’ being one of my favourite songs of his Many Moods Moses Album. He [Beenie Man] still remains one of the biggest Dancehall Artistes in the game and is still going strong, so he was always at the top of my list”, explained Keisha.
‘Valentines’ is a timeless track that goes well beyond Valentine’s Day and signifies a strong comeback for Keisha in the next chapter in her musical career, following the success of her first two Albums and shows a more mature side of her as the song was written by her on a more personal note.
“At the moment we are in talks about recording video and Jamaica is my first preference as location. You just can’t get anywhere better in my opinion. Finishing my Album is a priority. It’s long overdue and I can’t wait to have it available for my fans”
