Entrants from the parishes of St. Elizabeth, Manchester and Clarendon will compete for a place in the semi-final round.
According to Stephen Davidson, Director of Marketing & Public Relations, “the JCDC Jamaica Gospel Song competition continues to provide opportunities to unearth and showcase the talents of new artistes, writers and performers.” He noted that this is one of the most successful Gospel Competition in Jamaica which open doors for a lot of new artiste both local and internationally. He also noted that a lot of persons who have entered the competition have gone on to build a career from entering this competition. Some of these persons include Kerron Ennis, Kevin Downswell, Lebert Levy and Glacia Robinson to name a few.
Mr. Davidson also stated that even though person may not win the competition, a lot of other opportunities have open for them through the training they received from the workshops. Persons who are interested in entering the competition should note that those who entered and were not successful in the first elimination have another opportunity to audition at one of the other locations; however they must do so with a different song. It should also be noted that the writer of the song does not have to be the performer; however the writer may perform his/her own song.
Eliminations will continue in the Western Region at the St. John’s Methodist Action Centre, St. James on Wednesday, February 4, the Northern Region on Thursday, February, 5 at the St. Mary's Parish Church Hall, Port Maria and the final stop will be at the New Testament Church Of God, 51 Eastwood Park Road, Kingston 10 on Thursday, February 6.
All auditions start at 10:00 a.m. and on the
spot entries will also be accepted from persons who missed the preliminary deadline.

JCDC Head Office located at 3-5 Phoenix Avenue, Kingston 10, all JCDC parish
offices island-wide and online at www.jcdc.gov.jm.
