On Thursday, June 12th, Cedella Marley, daughter of the late reggae icon Bob Marley, launched a line of limited-edition soccer T-shirts and jackets inspired by the FIFA games, as well as outfits her father wore while he played the sport.

The line, titled Soccer Capsule Collection, was made from hemp and organic cotton and was a collaborative effort between Universal Music Group's global music merchandising company, Bravado, and Cedella Marley.

In addition to sportswear, the line also features men's clothing that pays tribute to Bob Marley. According to Universal Music's official website, the line takes inspiration from the famous singer's style during the 1960s and '70s and joins Bravado's portfolio of branded fashion lines, which includes Trukfit, Rich Gang and YMCMB.

In support of the 'going green' initiative, the collection uses sustainable fabrics. A portion of the net proceeds from Marley Apparel sales will go to the island's One Love Gardens initiative, which helps to fund and create eco-friendly plots of land for communities to grow food and herbs.

"It's an honour for me to spread my father's legacy to a loyal fan base that continues to expand," said Marley in an online release.

"Working with Bravado is endlessly rewarding as they truly understand the importance of my father's music and messages and have been key to bringing these inspirations to life through the medium of fashion," she added.

Bravado chief executive officer Tom Bennett said: "As Bravado continues to expand and moves further into the fashion apparel space, we take great care that our product lines remain true to the spirit of the music that inspires them, and this collection is no different."

Items from the Marley Apparel Spring/Summer 2014 and Soccer Capsule Collection 2014 will be available at select retailers nationwide and onwww.wearmarley.com.
