image Beenieman’s debut album was 'The Invincible Beenie Man: The Ten Year Old DJ Wonder' released in 1983.

image Half Pint's 1983 Jamaican number-one song "Winsome" was covered by The Rolling Stones in 1986 although it was renamed "Too Rude" for their Dirty Work album.

image Half Pint’s first single “Sally", was released in 1983 and was a hit in Jamaica.

image In 1982 Heartbeat Records out of Burlington Massachusetts came to Jamaica and recorded Dancheall's first live recording. The dance event was dubbed "A Dee-Jay Explosion: Inna Dancehall Style" which was hosted at the famous 'Jingles'

image On December 29, 1982 Jamaica issued a commemorative Bob Marley postage stamp.
