read full storyKennedy Gittens also known as Zionomi is a Saint Lucian recording artiste and performer. Music has always been his creative outlet and escape from the turmoil of inner city life. His music embodies a vibrant youthful aura and speaks of life’s joys, struggles and universal truths.
Zionomi is of Creole Heritage (Italian father and Saint Lucian mother) and has showcased his versatility and lyrical prowess by recording and performing songs from various genres such as Lover’s Rock, Dancehall, Soca and Lucian Kompa (Lucian Kweyol). Zionomi has soulfulness to his songs and a meaningful message in his lyrics as well. Two notable songs being “Kon Ca” and “Cah Wey” both sung in French Creole. This hidden gem of exuberant talent has taken over the airwaves globally with his contagious voice and hit songs such as “Give Praises” “Come & Love Me” “Just A Friend”, “Certain Things”, “Love How You Whining So” and most recently “Roll Yuh”.
From his youthful schooldays of beating on desks and freestyling to classmates, music has always been his passion and has served as a mirror reflecting some personal aspects of his life. It has offered him freedom, meditation and a platform to educate and entertain. ?His success was sealed with his victory at the Saint Lucia Guinness Freestyle Competition in 2006 where he was offered the opportunity to fly out to Jamaica and network with industry veterans Bobby Digital and Bushman, Gyptian to name a few. Zionomi has recently performed in Germany and also in Saint Maarten on July 24th, 2010 alongside Tanya Stephens. In recent years he has performed across the island of Saint Lucia at numerous venues including Youthfest 2010 alongside Mr.Vegas, the Saint Lucia International Jazz Festival 2008 and 2010 as well as Explosion by the Ocean 2011 with Jamaican artistes Jah Cure and Munga.
With the increasing recognition of his most recently released CD compilation ‘Shade Red’, Zionomi has garnered a growing global fanbase and increased media buzz through his musical works.
