The loveliest aspects of life are shared with family and it is no different with the sisterly duo L&S symfHoney. Lydia and Shema Sutherland are singers; songwriters and self taught instrumentalists whose voices join in soulful, seamless harmony. Perhaps it is the effect of a musical gift that is strengthened by family bonds. Whatever the reason, the combination of their united gifts is poetry put to music. Being the daughters of Veteran reggae artists Ijahman Levi & Madge Sutherland (known for their Number 1 Hit Single “I Do”), L&S symfHoney have been exposed to the world of entertainment from birth and decided since early childhood that music would be the career path, they too, would someday pursue. Since 2002 they have been trodding their own musical trail, referring to themselves as “Sistaz on a Muzikal Journey”. Throughout the years they have nurtured their talents, as members of their school choirs, were finalists in Jamaica’s prestigious Tastee Talent Contest, which produced artists like Beenie Man & Nadine Sutherland. They were also participants of The Caribbean Music Expo Artist in Development Workshops and have also shared the stage with artists such as Freddie McGregor, Etana and Shaggy to name a few. L&S symfHoney are passionate about and heavily influenced by the Sweet Reggae music produced by Jamaica - their homeland, but refuse to be boxed in by any one genre, therefore similar to their countries motto “Out of Many, One People” and their own multi-cultural family, Lydia Jamaican and Shema British born, this melting pot of cultures result in their musical style and motto being “Out of Many, One Sound” which is also the title of their debut album, released on the Malyshe Productions Label. "Out of Many...One Sound" has sixteen original tracks and a cover version of Ijahman Levi & Madge’s UK hit “I Do”, the album has an international flavour incorporating Reggae, Soul, Dancehall and Trance Their music explores the diverse scenes of everyday life combined with their spiritual experiences, giving depth to their lyrical content. Their single and music video “Sweet JahMekYah Come Together” is a testament to the responsibility they believe they have as artists in spreading positive messages, and was well received by viewers and listeners locally & internationally. Additionally Lydia & Shema’s music video for the track “I Do” received excellent reviews and took many on a stroll down memory lane as they paid homage to their musical heritage. L&S symfHoney is not merely the joining of harmonious talents; their music is so much more … It is the sharing of burdens, the laughter, the tears, the love in spite of challenges that has forged this dynamic duo, producing a sound unique to L&S symfHoney, which intern fulfills their desire of “Living Their Dream”.
