Known as one of the most versatile talents to rock the mic, and known as the vocals of
98.1 The One FM radio “Turn it up,” “Turn up de radio” and Frutee soda, “Drink It, Drink
It” radio commercials. Kadri Walcott was born June 02, 1980 in Barbados West Indies. At the age of 16 He wrote what then became a popular soca hit “Bus Ride,” for the popular
Double Xplojun band earning him his first title as a songwriter. Kadri took the slot as one
of the two lead vocalist with a popular nightclub band in Barbados, Full Force. Even
though he distanced himself from the scene for a few years, he never stopped his
penning of lyrics.
Kadri worked as the Teacher, Police Constable and Web Designer/Developer.Local politician Mia Amor Mottley, QC, MP introduced the young singer to Producer Nicholas Branker. To Kadri’s amazement, “Nicholas gave me sound advice of writing and vocals.” A few years later he recorded “Bam Bam” and “Moving On” under JW Record Label, New York, U.S.A; which were produced by Darron Grant and Michael Agard at
Undaground Recording Studio.
Kadri’s Official debut performance as a Dancehall/Rock Artist was at the Rock The Rock
2012 Rock Concert held in Barbados on November 10th 2012, where he performed his
first single “Trapped In The Underground.” There he shared the stage with local and
international acts such as Cover Drive, Nexcyx, Kite, Threads of Scarlet, Psilos, Vanna
Vee, Farouk Jr. and many more.
On Jan 31st 2014, Kadri released his first official debut dancehall single “Doo Doo Dally.”
