Born: Joseph Jordan Jones AKA Joseph Velvet in the parish of Kingston Jamaica WI. Migrated to The United State in 1984 and has been involved in the reggae music business eversince, Joseph Velvet in 1987 released his first single a cover version of the hit song “Wild Flour” distributed by VP records, from the single Joseph Velvet has gain popularity in the business, performing and opening for various reggae stars including: Dennis Brown, Freddy McGregor, Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, Shaggy to mention a few, as the years progress , Joseph Velvet never give up on his dreams, still performing in various clubs and entertainment spots all over the country, releasing a few singles but none gain the recognition intended. In the year 2003 Joseph Velvet went back in the studio came up with two singles “Arms around me” and “Love face” the songs didn’t release at that time because of a motor vehicle accident that left Joseph with serious spinal injuries , his musical carriercame to a halt, depression and uncertainty was his song. After years of rehabilitations Joseph started feeling better but still in doubt of his musical carrier. Age and physical strength was the big deciding factor in Velvet’s opinion of returning, but his son Joseph jr. was and still is his number one fan who gave him a dose of inspiration that propel him out of the sea of doubt and on the land of optisem, family members, friends and fans was also infuncial in his decision to return and complete his child wood dreams. Joseph Velvet start back performing in 2008 and was well received by his audience each time he went on stage, Velvet is well pleased of his performances and decide to take it to another level, in 2012 Joseph Velvet sign a Digital distribution deal with Star Tune records of Nashville TN. Two songs “Love Face” and “Arms around me” are now available on I Tune and Amazon mp3, the deal put Joseph Velvet back in the reggae music mix,and another single “Captive Prayer” was also pre-released on SoundCloud.com and YouTube.com. In December, 2013 Joseph Velvet went back in BMF recording studio of Philadelphia with Producer Boris France, Aaron Spence and Devon(proof)Clark and came up with what Friends, Fans and DJ called “A master piece”, “up setter”,” sure hit” the name “FUN NIGHT” says it all. The song briefly depict a similar comparison of Love and insanity, it makes mention of regular social media Face Book, Instagram and the everyday used I Phone, the rhythm is well put together, this song “FUNNIGHT “ is no doubt a collector’s item. Joseph said “I believe if my anticipated success should go public it will be a mobilizing force for people in the business who encounters setbacks, and for those who worry about the age factor.”
