Althea Hewitt stands out just as equal to any star you look forward to see. Althea has been performing throughout her school days at “Camperdown High School” and life journeys have taken her to continents like Europe. One such experience was at the beautiful hotel called Le Meridien in Brussels, Belgium where she represented Jamaica presenting our reggae music in a classy elegant atmosphere through a Jampro and air Jamaica project chefs from Jamaica inviting all to taste Jamaican cuisine. It was a fine experience for Althea who has been travelling ever since.

Althea has been to an island off the south east coastline of Australia called Caledonia where she performed to a massive crowd. Althea has also travelled to France, Germany and Holland where she did harmony work for bushman. Years later she did some shows in the Caribbean, islands like Barbados and many other countries like Guyana, New York in the United States and most recent, England and Sweden. Althea has toured with Boris Gardiner, Pluto Shervington, John Holt, Ernie Smith and Bunny Wailer.

In Jamaica, the Jamaica Pegasus came alive! New years eve January 31st 2012 with althea having the dance floor filled with patrons enjoying themselves into the new year and wanting more.

Althea was also apart of a group called 4th Street Sista that recorded and ruled the cabaret scene for years. The quartet won many awards.

Recently, Althea joined an amazing cast of talent called “Tribe Sankofa” who is headed by Fabian Thomas. This Ensemble will be taking on the world and will be a positive and strong force to reckon with in the Entertainment field.

Althea sings from her heart and not only that, she also is an exceptional songwriter and actress. Althea believes in education and growth and strives to be the best. Althea organizes her own shows and she mc’s very well. She has acted in many plays, short presentations and productions like “positive” and “Hairpeace” which has taken her to this point where she is currently part of a team of actors, dancers, musicians and singers called “Tribe Sankofa” directed by Fabian Thomas. She is also a part of Jamaica association of vintage artists and affiliates, JAVAA which operates from Kingston, Jamaica. This group works hard to maintain stability in the reggae industry and aims to uplift the music as well as preserve the history of our music culture.
