"Right now we're just out there putting in the work for the whole Dancehall music," expressed a laid back Mavado in his recent interview with HYPETV. "The level that it [Dancehall] can go on some people don't really understand…but it only starts from the work that you put in and how serious the work is. So it's just that I'm out there trying to deal with now and you already know that I wasn't in Jamaica most of last year [2012] because of certain things and things beyond my control…but right now we're back in the place," he continued explaining how hectic his scheduling is right now making his presence being felt both in Jamaica and on an international scale.
Having recently signed the singing sensation, Karian Sang, to his Mansion Records, the 'So Special' singjay recently stopped by BET's 106 and Park performing as a solo act and premiering his latest video, 'On Top Of My Game', with Brooklyn rapper Papoose. "This new song is doing great," explained Mavado. "Papoose came to Jamaica for probably half of a day just to shoot the video and left and trust me the video went good," he continued before hopping over to judge the program's Freestyle Friday's segment.
Clad in a Louis Vuitton sweater and crewneck shirt paired with a gold laced Jesus Piece, Presidential Rolex and matching bracelet, the 'Gully Gad' represented his island swagger faultlessly.
