Get to know Spiritual!

JAMusic:
What would you consider to be the greatest contributor to your musical diversity and versatility?
S: As a servant of the Father, he chose me to be one of his messengers alongside the many others to carry out His message so I just do it to the best of my ability.

JAMusic: How does your musical influences compound when you are sitting to write a song and record it? / Apart from them being timeless, what drew you to all the artistes that influence your sound?
S: The lifestyle of the people and the things going on in the world are what I see and that gives me the ability to write my songs. That is a lesson I’ve learnt from my teachers Marcus Garvey, Burning Spear and Bob Marley. As I said in one of the songs on my album, “You have to know who you listen to.

JAMusic: Let’s talk a bit about your single ‘Time Has Come’, what’s the story being the single?
S: As I mentioned before, I look at the things happening in the world. I see a lot of good things happening but I also see a lot of wrong doings which are not good in the eyes of the Father, so this is a message to all who think or know they are doing wrong to get up and run away from the wrong doings and let us all unite in love and music.

JAMusic: Can you say what the message is behind your debut album ‘Awakening’ and why was this message necessary for the musical landscape of today?
S: Reggae Music is a musical Bible being sung by many of the warriors fighting in the name of Jah. The Awakening is my verse in this song of life. There is lot of confusion in the minds of the people and I want to do my part in helping to clear it.

JAMusic: Where are you emotionally right now in your life that is aligning your creativity in the direction of your singles?
S: My emotion right now is to spread what is needed in life. Love is what is needed. Not two love and not three love, one love is what the world needs and that’s the direction I write in. Love is lacking, people need to love and be loved more.

JAMusic: When you look to the future, what are some of the areas you’d like to change professionally and personally?S: I would like to see the people in need stop being in need, in Time Has Come I wrote ‘When I see people out there crying, I cry too’ and right now I’m crying. There is enough for everyone. People are holding these things back because of the needs of the people and hence they have them imprisoned for wants. So that would be my change, equality for all humanity.

JAMusic: What's the purpose on your musical journey? What's the message you're trying to give?
S: I’m here to spread a Spiritual message. We have physical and mental living but we are lacking the Spiritual living. There is a supreme being that made us all who we are in His image and my journey is to help in bringing his children to him. We all need to be peace loving people.

JAMusic: Any final words?
S:  Let everyone be quick to hear and slow to speak, slow to anger because the anger of anyone does not work in the righteousness of God. The prayer of a righteous one has great power in its effect but each person are tempted when they are in enticed by their own desires. Blessings and honors to all humanitarian and peace loving people.
